This is the real motivation behind Murdoch's attacks on the BBC: he doesn't stand a chance of peddling his nonsense (or parting advertisers from their money) while there is something better available free. As a UK taxpayer, I am quite happy to pay for the BBC and I trust them to be impartial; I wouldn't trust Murdoch or any part of his empire, nor would I trust implicity any advertiser on any of his media. I know enough to know how money will somewhere, somehow distort the facts. Elliot Carver was not so much of a parody as we thought at the time...
